September 13-20, 2020, the International Art Festival TRANS / MISSIONS will be held in Trakai during the project “Trakai – Lithuanian Capital of Culture”. The events of this year’s festival will be attended by theaters of big cities – Wanda Siemaszkowa Theater in Rzeszów (Rzeszow, Poland), Maria Zankovetska National Academic Ukrainian Drama Theater (Lviv, Ukraine), State Theatre Košice (Košice, Slovakia), Csokonai Theater (Debrecen, Hungary) THE NATIONAL MORAVIAN – SILESIAN THEATER (Ostrava, Czech Republic), Latvia.

The theme of the festival is “Multinational Culture – Strength of the Country”. The theme was chosen purposefully, taking into account the history of Trakai, its diverse population and cultural heritage.

The TRANS / MISIJOS festival opens on September 13th in Trakai. The festival will begin with a Lithuanian program – the play of the Lithuanian National Drama Theatre “The doors”.

Each day of the festival will present performances from different countries and will consist of five shows – performances, concerts, exhibitions, book presentations, films and more. During the festival evenings there will be a musical program of another country and meetings with the participants of the festival.

During the closing of the festival, the participants will present a joint artistic project – a plenary performance on the Battle of Grunwald in Trakai Island Castle.

On September the 20th there will be a discussion between the participating theaters and state representatives – a press conference for Lithuanian and foreign media.
